Does
the Nashville Peace and Justice Center have communist ties?
You
be the judge.
Many thought communism
was dead in America. The label seemed to be a throwback to
the Cold War with little significance today. The recent protests
against the war in Iraq have exposed the communist party as
being alive and well and thriving in America.
On March 21, 2003,
The Phil Valentine Show established a link between the Nashville
Peace and Justice Center - the group responsible for the antiwar
protests around town - and the Communist Party USA. Phil discovered
that the NPJC listed the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) and the
Democratic Socialists of America as member organizations. The
following was the website for the NPJC as of March 21, 2003.
It has now been taken down because they don't want you to see
it. However, this is the way it looked the day they were
exposed to have ties with the CPUSA.

Over the weekend of
March 22-23, 2003, Phil Valentine made another startling discovery.
The address listed for the NPJC is the very same address listed
on the Communist Party USA's website for the Middle Tennessee
Chapter of CPUSA. After Phil announced this on the air on March
24, 2003, the CPUSA website was down for a period of hours.
When it returned, the Nashville address had been deleted. However,
through the wonder of technology, you can view the page as it
was before it was changed to cover their tracks. The origininal
webpage is below. Scroll down to the Middle TN Chapter and
note the address, 1016 18th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37212.

A new version of the
NPJC's website posted the day the CPUSA link was first aired.
It listed the CPUSA down the right side as a member organization
along with the Democratic Socialists of America. This link
is, like the first one, now dead.

That website was scrapped
for the latest version. This version is devoid of any
mention of CPUSA or the DSA. It does, however, list the
Emma Center as a member. The Emma Center follows the teachings
of Emma Goldman who was an anarchist, for a short time a prostitute,
conspired with a fellow anarchist to assasinate the chairman
of Carnegie Steel and was deported by the U.S. to Russia.
You'll find this listed on the organization page at the NPJC's
website du jour. A fine example Ms. Goldman is, isn't
she? I'm sure those religious organizations listed alongside
the Emma Center are proud to be mentioned on the same page.

The NPJC continues
to try to cover its tracks but we're staying hot on the trail.
Is everyone opposed
to the war with Iraq a communist? Of course not. But those
of you so inclined to publicly protest against the war have
a right to know who organizes those protests. Nashville is
not peculiar. The Workers World Party, a self-proclaimed "Marxist-Leninist"
organizations staged the anti-war protests in Washington, San
Francisco and elsewhere. You certainly have the right to protest
against your government but the NPJC needs to come clean as
to who they really are.
