Special Operations: Search & Rescue

The Tennessee STATE Guard offers additional training to its members in the area

of search and rescue.  STATE Guardsmen are trained by certified instructors.  Those who make

it all the way through the training qualify to participate in official search and rescue operations conducted

by the state of Tennessee.

Valentine leads his squad through a swamp . . . and across a river.

Class members had to find the injured victim and take him back to safety.

Out of the 45 or so who started off, only 14 made it through.  Valentine gets his certificate

and congratulations from the commanding general.  The class poses with the instructors.
