An
Important Message For United Methodist Members
Concerned Methodists
have called and e-mailed us regarding their church's stand on
issues which have nothing to do with religion or the teachings
of Christ. The link to the advocacy letters is a little hard
to get to so you may want to open another window and refer back
to this page or print these instructions off. Before you check
out this site, I want you to know that my intentions are to
inform you about what some in your denomination are doing in
your name. As a Southern Baptist, I don't always agree with
my church, either, and I let it be known when I disagree.
UMC's affiliation with
the Nashville Peace and Justice Center, an organization known
to have close ties with the Communist Party USA, is most disturbing.
Not only is the UMC a member organization alongside the CPUSA
and the Democratic Socialists of America, they own the very
building that the NPJC and the CPUSA call home.
To get to the advocacy
letters, follow this link: http://www.gbgm-umc.org/tncs/
Once there, click on the 'Advocacy' button at the top.
Then, click on 'UM Power Advocacy Site' which is the third link
listed. Click, then, on the red 'Advocacy Letters' button at
the left.
You'll find your church's
position on such Godly issues as drilling for oil in Alaska,
supporting campaign finance reform, supporting the radical Kyoto
Protocol on green house gases/global warming, opposition to
President Bush's National Missile Defense, supporting gun control,
advocating the release of drug offenders from prison and asking
the Washington Redskins to change their name. Just as my church
struggles with forces that want to take it sharply right, your
church - the United Methodist Church - has been hijacked by
extreme leftists who find nothing wrong with embedding themselves
with socialists and communists. Evil triumphs when good people
do nothing. I urge you to take your church back.
Phil Valentine
